I'm having SO MUCH FUN with my camera and photoshop! Don't let me forget to check the list of goals I made for myself. I could easily get lost in Cameraland if I'm not careful
I took this shot on Saturday behind the barn.

This barn. Yeah - It's old and rickety. But someday soon I'll show you pictures of the place inside where the former owner of the farm raised her kittens. It's a horror! Poor Kitties.
I have a new idol. Ree, the Pioneer Woman. I am in total awe of her mad skills with a camera and photoshop. And – she writes pretty well too. Thus the awards. Check her out. Unless you already have - 'cause she's pretty popular. And I'm kinda behind the times just discovering her but I'll be the first to admit that I'm not, and never have been one of the cool kids.
I am not a good photographer. But she has inspired me, and now I WILL become a good photographer. I believe this – because I tend to become just a tad obsessive about my hobbies.
Take for example the ballerina phase.

"Banshee Girl Advanced Pre Ballet 1999"
(Yes, that REALLY was the title of the level. She had already graduated from Pre Ballet 1 and 2)
One day while watching Banshee girl in her Pre Ballet class I got the urge to take a class my self. Three lessons later I committed myself to 10 hours a week of lessons, and kept at it for several years. I made admirable progress, yet due to my advanced age when embarking upon my crusade to become a ballerina and my lack of turn out, I did not end up fielding any offers from the Joffrey. Or any other ballet company – strange! Or NOT?! What is "turn out" you ask? Turn out is that freakish ability to have your body facing north with your toes pointing due east and west.

Like this.
Either you are genetically blessed with the bone shape to allow good turn out or you are not. I was not. That did not stop me from making the most of what I had. Hip pain, and moving to a new town which increased the distance between me and the nearest ballet studio willing to take on adult learners to a prohibitive number of miles, brought the ballerina phase to an end.
BTW – Pioneer Woman was a ballerina too – a real one, not just a deluded wanna be like me.
The ballerina phase was proceeded by the scrapbooker phase, and followed by the dog trainer phase and now the blogger and photographer phase. There have been others – You get the point.
So here I go … I am determined to become a photographer of at least reasonable ability.
Trouble is - it's so darn ugly around here right now. I'm running out of subject matter. March is just kinda yucky lookin' so there isn't a whole lot to take pictures of. The pets have started to hide from me and my new Digital SLR.
And I think that Dude, along with his turkey brothers and sisters, are ready to file a restraining order against me. Can you say stalkerazzi?
Wish me luck!
